Checklist for Traveling with a Dog

travel checklistIf you are traveling with your dog it is very important not to forget anything. The reason we go on holidays is to relax, have fun and forget the daily stressful and hectic life. For both your dog and you to enjoy a relaxing and fun trip, make sure to pack all essentials. Not every destination has pet supply stores or vets in proximity and looking for missing items can waste a whole day of relaxation and turn it into stress.
Here’s a checklist to help you:

□ Food (bring extra)
□ Treats and rawhides or chewables
□ Toys □ Extra Leash
□ Extra collar
□ Dog Tag with up-to-date contact information (DIY Dog tag here)
□ Towel
□ Brush
□ Waste removal bags
□ Extra towel or cover for car
□ Old familiar blanket, cushion or bed
□ Water for the trip
□ Food and water bowls
□ Portable water bowl and bottle
□ Pet first aid kit (check here what to include)
□ Flashlight for late walks
□ Grooming material if necessary (nail clipper, shampoo, ..etc)

woof_300TIP: Remember most tick / flea spot on or spray on solutions mention the dog should stay out of water for 24-48 hours. If due, best apply 1-2 days before your trip if heading to the beach or pool.
