Wadi Degla Maadi – Natural Protectorate 2

Go for a hike and take your dogs along!

For directions, take the Autostrad road to Maadi, and turn east towards Zahraa El Maadi. Follow this road for 3km until you come to a large mosque on your right. Turn right after the mosque. Turn left at the Wadi Degla Sporting Club. Follow this road and turn right before the Nissan Service Centre. Drive until the Wadi Degla entrance.

Wadi Degla is open every day until 6PM. Entrance costs 5LE for foreigners and 3LE for Egyptians.

Operating Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Tip: Please note that there is a pack of stray dogs living close to the outside parking. Although friendly and used to people, they tend to get a bit loud. With an extra 5 L.E. you can park a bit further inside, and start your walk, away from them.

Love this place. It’s a great getaway from the city in the city. There is a pack of dogs living there at the parking lot. They are very friendly yet do they get loud when you arrive with a dog, specially when they have puppies. You can pay a bit extra and park your car further inside to avoid or bring them some food and put it further away to distract them, they’d love your for it 🙂
